Giveaway! (Nominations needed)
Fact #1: Aaron and I are living the good 'ol grad school life. (Which means we have the privilege of living off of good 'ol grad school loans. blah.)
Fact #2: We really want to do something special for a family for Christmas this year.
Do you see how these facts work against each other?
Aaron and I have decided to give away a couple of sessions to some families who could not otherwise afford pictures. This includes a full session, a disk of the full resolution images, and a mounted enlargment.
This is where you come in.
I am hoping that some of you are aware of some families in need this year. As you know, we are new here. And I don't feel like I can find really deserving families all by my lonesome. We need some help!
I will be gathering nominations until November 1st. E-mail your stories to melissaephotography@gmail.com or list them in the comments. Please tell us about the nominated family, and why you feel like they are deserving of a free session. And we would really appreciate it if you could help us spread the word!
Nominees can be anywhere in North Carolina, Washington DC, Utah and some cities in Virginia.
Please e-mail me at melissaephotography@gmail.com if you have any questions. I can't WAIT to hear your stories.
Thank you!
You are so sweet Melissa! So...I have one. It's my cousin. His name is Justin. He has a wife named Kirsten. They are 33-34 years old, and have tried for years to have kids, but couldn't. Anyway- for one reason or another, they ended up getting full custody of Kirstens two nephews. They have been raising them for quite a few years now. Anyway- last month, my cousin Justin, found out he has terminal colon cancer. He is doing aggressive chemo-therapy, not expectingto be cured...just to extend his life for a year or so. (he goes in this next weekend, to see if the chemo is doing anything. If it's not, he may only have a few months left to live.) Anyway- he has not been working since he has found out, and their bills have been piling up. His poor wife! Our family has been collecting monthly donations to help them out a little, but I'm sure the holidays are going to be rough. Not just for the money, but also because nobody knows if this will be his last Christmas. Anyway- if this were me, I think a family photo would be a great thing to do and to have before he's gone. However, I don't know if they NEED a family photo (Maybe they've done one recently?)but I nominate them anyway! I figure, if they win, I'll let them know, and if they don't need it, you can pick someone else! Thanks for listening to my sob story! Love ya Mel!
And....yeah. If they win? And don't need it...I'd be happy to take if for them! We are very poor college students too, ya know!? Just kidding. Totally kidding.
